Found and foraged materials form the backbone of this textural collage. European silk remnants, driftwood, velvets, and high-fashion garments made with luxury fabrics are deconstructed and repurposed. Mia begins her creative process with the materials in her hands, transferring the stories imbued in their fibres into the finished artworks.

Working intuitively with the materials, Mia creates folds, patterns and dialogue between colours and textures. Stitched by both hand and machine, this tumbling fabric form is held by a firm boundary created by its wood base and copper frame.
